Finland - Happiest country in the world in 2020

According to the [World Happiness Report](https://worldhappiness.report/), in 2020, Finland was the happiest country in the World for the third consecutive year.

Denmark, Switzerland, Iceland and The Netherlands finished in the top five.

Norway, Sweden, Luxembourg, New Zealand and Austria completed the top ten.


World Happiness Report - 2021

The World Happiness Report ranks 156 countries by how happy their citizens perceive themselves to be, based on six different factors - GDP per capita, social support, healthly life expectancy, freedom to make life choices, generosity and perception of corruption - .

The report uses data from the Gallup World Poll.

Analysis - Top Ten countries


Three Nordics countries (Finland, Denmark and Iceland), with Finland first, finished in the top four. The Netherlands and Switzerland completed the top five in 2020.

The below graph 1 shows the top 10 happiest countries according to the World Happiness Report.

For the third year in a row, Finland has been named the happiest country in the world, improving from fifth position in 2017 to first in 2018.
